Roll a d20
Pick your dice and roll.
A fair 20-sided die, rolled in 3D. Pick more dice, add a modifier, or roll with advantage. Every result is generated by a cryptographic random source and then shown by the dice.
The d20 is the die D&D is built on. Every attack roll, ability check and saving throw is a d20 plus modifiers against a target number; a natural 20 on an attack is a critical hit and a natural 1 misses. Advantage means rolling two d20s and keeping the higher; disadvantage keeps the lower.
A d20 rolls a whole number from 1 to 20, each equally likely, so its average is 10.5. Rolling several at once and adding them up (2d20, 3d20) makes results bunch around the middle, which is why damage rolls of many dice feel steadier than a single die.
RollQuest rolls these same dice on the virtual tabletop: 3D dice with physics that every player at the table sees land, tied to the character sheet so the modifier is already in. The roller here is the same engine, free to use with no account.
Looking up a rule while you roll? The D&D 5e reference has every spell, monster, class and condition from both editions, and the advantage rule in full.
Roll them at a real table
RollQuest is a browser virtual tabletop: these dice, a map with dynamic lighting and fog, and character sheets that add the modifier for you. Free to start, nothing to install.
