Frequently asked questions
Do my players need to pay?
No. Players join on a free account and can play in any game, whatever plan you are on. On any plan they take your homebrew onto their sheets and run the macros you share with the table. The GM's plan decides which GM tools the table has: the map builder, board layers, the asset drawer, weather, the world clock, and the spell effects everyone sees. A few things follow each person's own account instead: dice effects, and the campaign journal, which needs Starter on the account that opens it unless a Pro GM has turned on the journal between sessions.
Do I need Pro for homebrew and macros?
To write homebrew, yes: a Pro account holds up to 20 homebrew packs, and your players take what's in them on any plan. Macros are on every plan: anyone can run them and add the ready-made ones for their game's system. Adding your macros to a game for the table needs Starter, and building or editing your own needs Pro.
What does "founding price" mean?
The prices above are launch prices. They'll go up for new subscribers at some point. If you subscribe now, you keep your price for as long as your subscription stays active.
Can I cancel?
Yes, any time, from the plan card on your profile. You keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for. Your games stay; features from the plan you left switch off until you resubscribe.
Why is there a player limit?
Sync performance. Eight players plus the GM is what we've tested to keep sub-second updates for everyone. It's the same on every plan and it isn't a paywall.
What happens to my Free plan later?
Nothing. The Free plan doesn't expire and isn't a trial.
Is there a yearly price?
Yes. Choose Annually above the plans to pay for a year at a time: the price shown is the monthly cost, billed once a year. Monthly billing is there too.
