A 5e character sheet that does the maths

What the sheet does for you

Every derived number on a 5e sheet is worked out from the choices you make. Set an ability score and its modifier, the saving throws it feeds and the skills it governs update at once. Put on chain mail and pick up a shield and your Armor Class is 18. Take a level and your proficiency bonus, hit points and spell slots follow the class table, so a level 5 fighter has +3 and a second attack without anyone looking it up.

Attacks, checks and saves are buttons. Click one and the sheet rolls the right die with the right modifier, with advantage or disadvantage if you ask for it, and everyone at the table sees the dice land. Damage rolls carry the weapon’s dice and your modifier, and a spell’s damage scales with the slot you spend.

Both rule sets, built in

The sheet ships with the 2014 rules from SRD 5.1 and the 2024 rules from SRD 5.2.1 as separate packs, so a table playing either edition gets the right classes, species, backgrounds, feats, spells and equipment. The reference on this site is built from the same packs: the class tables, the species traits and the backgrounds you read here are the ones the sheet uses.

Choose a class and the sheet knows its hit die, saving throws, armor and weapon training, skill choices and starting equipment, and it lays out the features you gain at each level. Choose a species and its traits, size and speed are applied. Choose a background and its skills, tools and equipment arrive on the sheet.

Made to be played, not printed

The sheet lives beside the map on the virtual tabletop. The GM sees every player’s sheet, players see their own, and a token on the board is tied to the sheet that drives it, so hit points, conditions and initiative stay in one place. Groups that want their own look can lay a sheet out over custom artwork with the sheet designer, keeping the same calculations underneath.

Nothing is installed. RollQuest runs in the browser on a laptop or a tablet, and a game starts from a link.

How to start a character

Sign in with Google or Discord, open a game and add a character. Pick the edition, then the class, species and background from the lists; the sheet fills in as you go, and you can change any choice later. The free plan includes the full 5e character sheets, so there is nothing to pay to try it.
