Roll so that only you and the Game Master (GM) see the result. The GM uses the dice tray's Secret switch; players type /gmroll in chat.

Roll in secret as the GM

  1. Open the Dice tray and pick your dice.
  2. Click Public. It changes to Secret.
  3. Click Roll.

The dice tumble on everyone's board with question marks on the faces. Only you see the total, and the roll shows in your chat faded, marked hidden and GM only. The tray stays on Secret for your next rolls until you click it again.

Public switched to Secret, then Roll. You see the result; your players see question marks.

Tip: secret tray rolls aren't kept in the chat history, so they're gone after you reload the page. Use /gmroll when you want a record.

Roll privately as a player

Type /gmroll and a formula in chat, for example /gmroll 1d20+4. The roll goes to you and the GM only, marked GM only, and stays in the chat history for both of you. No dice appear on the board.

From your character sheet, right-click a skill, save or attack (long-press on a phone) and choose GM only before you roll. See Your sheet at the table.

Note: players see a Secret switch in the dice tray too, but for now a player's secret tray roll hides the result from the player as well. Use /gmroll instead.

Roll just for yourself

Type /selfroll and a formula (or the short form /sroll). Only you see the result, and it isn't saved: it's gone when you reload.

Choose who sees sheet rolls (GM)

In Game Settings (the cog on the tool rail), open Rules and set Default roll audience:

  • Everyone at the table: players' sheet rolls start as public.
  • You and the player: players' sheet rolls start as GM only.

It's only where the choice starts. Players can still change it for any roll.
