Roll dice
Pick your dice in the dice tray and roll them onto the table in 3D. Everyone sees them land, and the total appears for the whole table.
Roll from the dice tray
Click the Dice menu button (a d20, top left, under the menu). The Dice tray opens.
Click a die to add it: D4, D6, D8, D10, D12, D20 or D100. Click again for more; right-click to take one away. Mix as many as you like.
Set a Modifier with − and +, or type it.
For a d20 roll, choose Dis, Normal or Adv. Adv rolls everything twice and keeps the higher total; Dis keeps the lower.
Click Roll.
A D20, a +3 modifier and Adv, then Roll. The tray clears for the next roll.
The dice tumble across the board for everyone. A card shows who rolled and the total, and the roll goes into chat.
After each roll the tray clears and goes back to Normal, ready for the next one. Clear empties it without rolling.
Note: a player needs a character assigned before they can roll from the tray. See Invite players.
Roll by typing
In chat, type /roll and a formula, for example /roll 1d20+5 or /roll 2d6+3. Add adv or dis at the end for advantage or disadvantage. See Chat for everything you can type.
Roll in secret
As the GM, switch the tray's Public button to Secret before you roll: players see the dice land with question marks on them, and only you get the result. Players roll privately with /gmroll in chat. See Secret rolls.
Your dice colour
Your dice use your token's colour. Players change it in Game Settings (the cog on the tool rail) under Your Dice Colors. As the GM, you set yours in Game Settings > Board > Colors > Dice colors.
Turn 3D dice off
If the animation is too much for your computer or phone, open your profile (click your name at the top of the menu) and untick 3D dice on desktop or 3D dice on mobile. You then just see the result. This only changes your own screen.
Dice effects
Starter and Pro players can throw dice with fire, frost or lightning, and mark a natural 20 or a natural 1 with confetti, glows or a screen shake.
