Join from an invite link

Your Game Master (GM) sends you a link. Open it, sign in or sign up, and the game appears on your dashboard.

Note: each invite link lets one person in. If someone in your group has already used the link, ask your GM for one of your own.

  1. Open the link in Chrome or Edge on a computer, or in Chrome on an Android phone. See Browsers and devices.
  2. If you aren't signed in, the sign-in window opens. Sign in, or sign up with an email address, Google or Discord. Stay in the same browser tab.
  3. You join straight away. You have successfully joined the game! appears and your dashboard opens.

If you signed up with an email address, RollQuest asks you to confirm it first. Open the confirmation email, click Confirm my email, then open the invite link again. Google and Discord accounts are confirmed already.

Open the game

The game is on your dashboard under Your Games. Click Join Game on its card. On a phone, tap the card.

If the card says Locked, your GM has locked the game for now. It opens again when they unlock it.

What happens next

Your GM gives you a character to play. Until they do, the board shows No character assigned, and it updates by itself as soon as they assign one. Your first session as a player takes you from here to your first roll.

If something's wrong

"This invite link has expired." The link was used already, replaced by a newer one, or is more than 30 days old. Ask your GM for a new link.

"You are already a player in this game." You're in. Open the game from your dashboard.

"This game is full." The game has 8 players already. Your GM needs to remove someone first.

"Failed to accept the invite." Check you copied the whole link, then ask your GM for a fresh one.
