Join from an email invitation

When a Game Master (GM) invites you by email, the game appears on your dashboard straight away, and an email arrives with an Accept invitation button.

Note: a GM can only invite an email address that already has a RollQuest account. If you don't have one yet, ask your GM for an invite link instead: it lets you sign up and join in one go. See Join from an invite link.

Accept from the email

  1. Open the email. Its subject names your GM and the game, for example Robin invited you to "The Stormglass Lab".
  2. Click Accept invitation. If the button doesn't work, copy the link under Or paste this link into your browser: into Chrome or Edge.
  3. Sign in with the email address the invitation was sent to.
  4. You have successfully joined the game! appears and your dashboard opens.

You don't have to wait for the email. Sign in, find the game under Your Games, and click Join Game on its card. On a phone, tap the card.

If your GM asked you to bring a character

Accept from the email. Your dashboard then shows Your GM asked you to bring a character to the game, with three choices:

  • Build my character opens the character builder.
  • Use one from my library brings in a character you've made before.
  • Later hides the message for now.

If something's wrong

"This invite was sent to a different email address." You're signed in with another account. Sign out, then sign in with the address the email went to.

The email never arrived. Check your spam folder. The game is on your dashboard either way, so you can join from there.

Your GM can't send it again. A second invitation to the same address fails with This user has already been invited to the game. Join from your dashboard, or ask for an invite link.
