The Game Master (GM) damages and heals tokens from the token menu. Resistances, immunities and temporary hit points are worked out for you.

For: Game Masters and players · Plan: Free · 1 minute

Damage or heal a token (GM)

  1. Right-click the token and choose Apply Damage. With several tokens selected, it says how many and hits them all.

  2. Type the amount.

  3. Pick the damage type, such as Fire or Slashing, or leave No type.

  4. Tick Heal instead of damage to heal.

  5. Click Apply (or Heal), or press Enter.

Apply Damage from the token menu: an amount, Fire, then Apply. The token's hit point bar drops.

Only the GM can apply damage to tokens. Players change their own hit points on their character sheet. See Hit points and rests.

How it's worked out

  • Resistance halves the damage, vulnerability doubles it, and immunity stops it. RollQuest reads them from the character sheet or the creature's stat block.
  • Temporary hit points take damage first.
  • Healing stops at the token's maximum.
  • A creature at 0 hit points becomes Unconscious.

Showing hit points on the board

A token can show a hit point bar (such as 12/20 HP), a temporary hit points chip and its AC. You choose what shows, and to whom:

  1. Right-click the token and choose Edit Character (or Edit Enemy, or Edit NPC).
  2. In the On the board table, tick what the GM and the players can see.

Everything starts hidden.
