Create a game

A game is your table: its maps, characters, creatures, sounds and notes all live inside it. Start one from scratch, or from a content pack that already holds a campaign or a scene.

Create a game from scratch

  1. On your dashboard, click New Game (next to Your Games). Or, in a game, open the menu (three lines, top left) and click Create Game. The Create New Game window opens.

  2. Type a Game Name, up to 50 characters.

  3. Add a Description (Optional) if you like, up to 500 characters.

  4. If the window shows Use Content Pack and Start from Scratch, choose Start from Scratch.

  5. Choose a Game System: a rules pack such as 5e, or None (generic HP) for a game with just hit points.

  6. Add a Game Image (Optional): the cover on your game's card. 1920 × 1080 (16:9) works best.

  7. Click Create Game.

You go straight into the new game. The first time, a short video, Welcome to your new game, shows four things worth doing first. You can watch it again from Help on the right-hand edge.

Start from a content pack

A content pack is a ready-made campaign or scene someone has published.

  1. Click New Game, then Use Content Pack.
  2. If you see Campaign and Scene, choose which you want:
    • Campaign starts a new game as a copy of a whole campaign.
    • Scene starts a new game with that one scene ready to play.
  3. Pick a pack. Click Preview to look inside it first, then Use this pack. The name fills in for you; change it if you like.
  4. Click Create Game.

At the limit you see Campaign Limit Reached. Delete a game you no longer need, or upgrade.

Find your game again

Your games are on the dashboard under Your Games, most recently played first. Click Continue Game to go back in. The icons on each card let you Invite players or Delete game.
