GM view and player view
As the Game Master (GM) you see everything: hidden tokens, every light, the whole map through thin fog. Switch to your players' view to check exactly what they will meet.
Switch views
Open the menu (three lines, top left) and use the GM View switch at the top.
| GM View on | GM View off | |
|---|---|---|
| Fog | Half strength, so you can work | Full, as players see it |
| Hidden tokens | Shown faded | Gone |
| Lights | Handles you can drag | Glow only |
| Secret doors | Purple | Hidden |
GM View turns itself back on each time you load the game. The static fog tools and the wall and door menus need it on.
See the board as one player
- Hover over the Mode menu and choose Fog of War.
- At the bottom, under GM View Perspective, choose a player, or Party View for everything the party can see between them.
This works with Dynamic and Persistent fog.
Plan: GM View Perspective needs Starter or Pro.
Let a player see from another token
A player normally sees from their own character. To let them see from another token too (a familiar, a scout, a crystal ball), right-click the token, choose Edit, open Access, and turn that player on under Player Perspective View.
