Walls turn a picture into a place: they stop tokens seeing through stone, they block light, and they can stop tokens walking through them. Trace them over the walls printed on your map.

Draw a wall

  1. Hover over the Mode menu at the top of the board and choose Walls.

Walls is in the Build group of the Mode menu.
  2. Click where the wall starts, then click at each corner. Each click adds a point, and the line follows your pointer to the next one.

  3. Finish the wall:

    • press Esc to stop where you are, or
    • press Enter to close the shape back to your first point, or
    • click an existing corner to join onto it.
One click per corner, then Esc. Leave a gap where a door will go.

Walls don't snap to the grid, but a click near an existing corner (within a few pixels) snaps onto it, shown by a pulsing ring.

Tip: made a wrong click? Cmd+Z (Mac) or Ctrl+Z (Windows) takes back the last point, or the last wall.

What walls do

  • Block sight. Fog of war clears only where a token has line of sight, and walls cut it off.
  • Block light. A torch lights its own room, not the one next door.
  • Block movement, but only when Block Wall Passage is on in the Grid settings.

Players never see the wall lines. You see them in Walls and Doors mode.

Change a wall

In Walls mode, with GM View on:

  • Move a corner: drag its square handle. Drop it onto another corner to join them.
  • Right-click a wall for Add point here, Add door here, Convert to door, Convert to boundary, Make One-Way and Delete Wall.
  • Right-click a corner for Delete Node, or Detach Node where several walls meet.

Boundary walls stop movement but not sight or light: good for a cliff edge or a railing. One-way walls block sight from one side only; Flip Direction turns them round.

Clear all walls

In the Walls settings, click Clear All Walls. It happens straight away, with no confirmation, so be sure. On a scene with phases it clears only the current phase.

Wall colour

Change Wall color in the Walls settings if red is hard to see on your map. It applies to every scene in the game.
