Cards that do things
StarterSome tables run on cards. Inspiration cards, tarot readings, magic item decks, a homebrew system where every ability is a card in your hand. RollQuest has a full card system: a deck editor, a card drawer for each player's hand, dealing and reshuffling, and cards that can roll dice and change sheets when played.
A card system for tabletop RPGs, built in
Build a card in the editor. Give it a name, art, text and a back. Give it a dice formula if it should roll something (2d6+2 fire damage). Give it a sheet effect if it should change something (+2 AC until your next turn). Put it in a deck.
Deal the deck. Each player gets a hand in their Card Drawer, hidden from the others. They play a card to the table and it does what it says: the dice roll, the sheet updates, the card goes to the discard pile. Reshuffle when the deck runs dry.
How it works in RollQuest
Open the Deck Manager. Make a deck, then add cards one at a time or duplicate and edit. Art can be uploaded or pulled from your asset library. When the deck is ready, deal it: to everyone, to one player, or face up on the table.
Players manage their own hand in the Card Drawer at the bottom of the screen. Play a card, discard it, hold it. The GM can see hands or not, depending on the deck's settings.
Decks on your account
Decks save to your account, not to one game. Build your tarot deck once and use it in every campaign. Starter accounts hold 10 decks of up to 100 cards; Pro holds 100 decks of up to 200 cards.

Cards on the sheet
A card can be placed onto a Designed View character sheet, so a player's active abilities or equipped items sit right on their sheet and can be played from there.
Card effects
Cards have a tilt effect on every plan, so they move like a real card in the hand. Starter adds foil. Pro adds the full set: foil, glint and sheen, for the cards that deserve to look rare.
Works with
3D dice roll the formula on a card when it's played.
Character sheets receive effects from cards and can hold cards in Designed View.
Game system templates can include decks, so a content pack arrives with its cards.
Frequently asked questions
Which plans include cards and decks?
Starter and Pro. Starter: 10 decks, 100 cards each. Pro: 100 decks, 200 cards each.
Can a card roll dice?
Yes. Give it a formula and it rolls when played, with the result in chat.
Can players see each other's hands?
Not by default. Hands are private. A deck can be set face-up for things like a shared market row.
Can I use my own card art?
Yes. Upload images or use anything in your asset library.
Can I build a whole card-based game with this?
People do. Cards with formulas and sheet effects, plus a custom sheet template, covers a lot of ground. If you're prototyping a system, it's a fast way to test it with real players.
