GM Asset Drawer
The Asset Drawer is your own library of art and creatures, kept on your account so the dragon you made for one campaign is ready for the next.
Each game has its own Asset Library of pictures (see Assets), and what's in it stays in that game. The drawer belongs to your account instead, so it's the place for things you'll want again: a portrait you commissioned, a set of dungeon furniture, or a villain you built once and want in every campaign. It's a tool for the Game Master (GM), the person who runs a game.
Plan: adding to and arranging the drawer is on Pro.
Beta: the Asset Drawer is still rolling out, so it may not be on your account yet.
Open the drawer
- On your dashboard, click Asset Drawer.
- In a game, open the menu and click Asset Drawer.
It slides in from the right, headed My Assets.
Add images
Click + Image, then Upload from your computer: PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF, up to 8 MB each, several at once. In a game you can also take an image from that game.
Or, in a game's Asset Library, click Save to my asset drawer on an asset.
Make a creature
A creature in the drawer is a monster or a person ready to drop into any game, with its numbers filled in.
Click + Creature to make an enemy or NPC with no game needed:
- a Name and a Kind (Enemy or NPC),
- a Game system, and a stat block From the library or your own Vitals, Abilities and saves and Damage response,
- a portrait,
- On the board: Token size, and whether it's Visible to players when placed,
- notes.
An enemy is a creature the party fights; an NPC (non-player character) is a person you play, such as a shopkeeper. The game system is the set of rules the creature is written for, such as 5e (see Game systems), and the fields change to match it. A stat block is a creature's numbers: hit points, armour class, abilities and actions. Abilities and saves are its ability scores and saving throws (the rolls it makes to resist harm), and Damage response is how it takes each type of damage, such as resistance to fire.
Organise it
Add pages with + Page and coloured sections with + Section. Turn on Edit layout to move and resize items on the page. Anything not on a page waits in the tray.
Use it in a game
Drag an item onto the board, or right-click it and choose Add to board or Add to game. A creature arrives as a token, its piece on the board, with its own copy of the stat block: changes you make in the drawer later don't reach tokens already placed.
Right-click an item for Edit creature, Put on this page, Take off this page or Remove from drawer.
